What Is the Rainbow Fraction Squares Set Used For?
Fractions become easier to reason about when students can lay them side by side. With pieces that divide the same square whole, pupils check that two quarters cover exactly the same area as one half, see that a sixth is smaller than a fifth because the whole is shared among more parts, and put unit fractions in order. They can also add fractions with the same denominator by placing pieces together. The colour coding helps children recognise pieces quickly, and it corresponds to other Rainbow Fraction products used in the same classroom.
The set suits primary and middle-school fraction lessons and maths lab tables; teaching notes are included for the teacher, and the work tray keeps all 51 pieces together between lessons.
