What Is the Dive into Shapes Geometry Set Used For?
Building a shape makes its properties obvious in a way that a drawing does not. When children join sticks with connectors, each stick becomes a side and each connector a corner, so they can count sides and vertices, compare a square with a rectangle by the lengths of stick they needed, and notice that every triangle needs three sticks while every quadrilateral needs four. The three stick lengths allow shapes of different sizes, and the curves let them make circles and the round parts of cylinders.
Once 2-D shapes are built, students combine them into new flat shapes or lift them into 3-D shapes, which links the faces and edges of a solid to the flat shapes they already know. The 15 double-sided activity cards provide 30 activities to structure this work in primary geometry lessons, maths labs and small-group activity time.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Number of sets — for example one per group table.
- Companion shape resources — such as tangrams or geometric solids, quoted as separate items on the same enquiry.
- Delivery details — the school address, or the destination country and port for export.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is in the Dive into Shapes geometry set?
60 sticks in 3 sizes (2.25, 3.5 and 5.25 in), 34 connectors of 2 types about 1 in in diameter, 20 curves and 15 double-sided activity cards with 30 activities.
Can students build 3-D shapes with it?
Yes. They first build 2-D shapes and then combine them to make new 2-D shapes or 3-D shapes, and the curves help them make circles and cylinders.
What are the activity cards for?
The 15 double-sided cards give 30 activities, so children have building tasks to work through.
What should an export enquiry include?
The number of sets, the destination country and port or city, your preferred delivery terms (for example FOB or CIF) and any tender reference.
Who supplies this geometry set?
