What Is the KCL and KVL Apparatus Used For?
Kirchhoff’s current law states that the currents flowing into a junction equal the currents flowing out, because charge is conserved; the voltage law states that the voltage rises and drops around any closed loop add up to zero, because energy is conserved. On the apparatus, students power the resistor circuit from the built-in supply and read currents and voltages on the panel meters to check that both sums balance within reading error.
The two laws are the starting point of DC circuit analysis in first-year electrical engineering, diploma and B.Sc. physics or electronics practicals, and Kirchhoff’s rules are also part of the current electricity chapter in class 12 physics.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Quantity — the number of units for your lab benches.
- Companion trainers — network theorem trainers, such as those linked below, are separate items that can be quoted together.
- Mains supply — the apparatus runs on 230 V AC ±10%, 50 Hz; mention your local supply when you enquire.
Frequently Asked Questions
What meters are fitted?
Analog moving-coil meters measuring 60 x 35 mm, with 0–3 V DC and 0–250 mA ranges.
Which resistors are provided?
Four resistances — 5, 10, 22 and 33 ohms — each rated at 5 W.
What comes with the apparatus?
The standard accessories are a power cord, patch cords and an instruction manual.
How does it differ from the Network Theorems trainer?
This apparatus is for Kirchhoff’s two laws. The Network Theorems trainer is for the superposition, Thevenin’s, Norton’s and maximum power transfer theorems, with fixed 12 V and 5 V DC supplies and dual-range meters.
What information is needed for an export quotation?
Send the quantity, the destination country and port or city, your preferred delivery terms (for example FOB or CIF), any packing or labelling requirements, and the tender reference if the order is for a tender.
Who manufactures this KCL and KVL apparatus?
JLab — Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd — makes it at its own works in Ambala, Haryana, and supplies it direct as the manufacturer.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, an electrical and electronics lab equipment manufacturer in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The apparatus is built in JLab’s own works and not bought in from a trader, so colleges, schools, dealers and importers deal with the maker for both first and repeat orders. The company is registered for GST under GSTIN 06AADCJ9848D1ZE and holds Legal Entity Identifier 549300DTGS77DGYD6N03. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Vietnam in Southeast Asia, Jamaica in Central America and the Caribbean, France in Western Europe, Tajikistan in Central Asia and Namibia in Southern Africa. For tender purchases, see the JLab lab tenders page.
