What Is the VVVF AC Motor Control Setup Used For?
The setup is used to start an AC motor through an electronic drive rather than switching it straight onto the supply, and then to vary the motor’s speed. Speed control of this kind works by changing the frequency fed to the motor, because the speed of an AC induction motor follows its supply frequency.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does VVVF control mean?
VVVF stands for variable voltage, variable frequency. The drive raises or lowers its output voltage in step with the output frequency, keeping the voltage-to-frequency ratio roughly constant, so the magnetic flux in the motor — and with it the torque the motor can deliver — is held across the speed range.
Why are thyristors or IGBTs used in the drive?
Both are power semiconductor switches that can carry motor currents. A thyristor, once triggered, keeps conducting until its current falls to zero, which suits controlled rectifiers; an IGBT can be turned on and off by its gate signal at high frequency, which is how an inverter builds a variable-frequency output.
How does it differ from the 3 Phase Induction Motor Trainer?
This setup is housed in a portable wooden panel box, tapered for a better viewing angle. The 3 Phase Induction Motor Trainer has its IGBT-controlled AC panel in an aluminium profile rack on a table-top flat panel.
What information is needed for an export quotation?
Send the number of setups, the destination country and port or city, your preferred delivery terms (for example FOB or CIF), any packing or labelling requirements, and a tender reference if one applies.
Who supplies this setup?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, trading as JLab, of Hargolal Road, Ambala, supplies the Mars setup and quotes for it directly, whether for a single lab or a tender.
Supplier
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a laboratory equipment company in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. It supplies this Mars motor-control setup alongside its own range of electrical and electronics lab equipment, so an electrical machines lab can place the drive setup and its other benches on one enquiry. The company holds Importer-Exporter Code 3317504552 and is registered under GSTIN 06AADCJ9848D1ZE. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Tunisia in North Africa, Germany in Western Europe, Congo in Central Africa, Mexico in North America and Qatar in the Middle East. Tender information is on the JLab lab tenders page.
