Product Code : EL-PL-12615
Jlab Export is a leading Apparatus to Demonstrate Faraday's Law and Lenz's Law Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Apparatus to Demonstrate Faraday’s Law and Lenz’s Law (code EL-PL-12615) is an induction set in which a giant neodymium magnet travels down a guide tube through an air-core solenoid, with a copper collar and an impact pillow, to show how a moving magnet induces current and how that current opposes the motion. It is built by JLab in Ambala, India.

Seeing Faraday’s Law in the Coil
Connect the solenoid to a centre-zero galvanometer or an oscilloscope with the two banana plug cables and let the magnet fall through it. The meter kicks one way as the magnet enters and the other way as it leaves, because the flux through the turns first rises and then falls; the size of the emf follows the rate of change of flux. On an oscilloscope the second pulse is taller and narrower than the first, since the magnet is moving faster by the time it leaves, while the two pulses enclose about the same area because the flux change is the same each time.
Lenz’s Law and the Copper Collar
As the magnet passes through the copper collar, the changing flux drives eddy currents round the ring, and by Lenz’s law their magnetic field opposes the change that causes them, so the magnet is braked and visibly slows. Compare the fall time with and without the collar on the tube. The impact pillow at the foot of the tube cushions the magnet where it lands. Keep the strong magnet away from phones and cards.
