Warming Solutions in Borosilicate Glass
The heat resistance comes from the low thermal expansion of borosilicate glass: it changes size little as it heats, so less stress builds up in the wall. Warm it on a wire gauze or a hot plate, lift it with beaker tongs while it is hot, and let it cool before washing. The clear wall lets students watch a colour change or a solid dissolving as it happens.
