Why a Jointed Conical Flask Helps
With the stopper in the joint, a solution standing between steps loses less by evaporation and stays free of dust, and the contents can be shaken without spilling. The same size 29 joint accepts any inner joint of that size, so the flask can also act as a receiver or reaction vessel under a condenser or adapter. Rinse the joint and stopper after use so that dried solution does not make them stick.
