Using the Stand Between Heating and Weighing
A crucible taken from a burner or furnace has to stand somewhere while it cools enough to go into a desiccator. Setting each one in its own opening keeps samples apart and lets air reach the walls from every side. Place and lift crucibles with tongs: the wire takes up heat from crucibles that come straight off the flame.
Six-Place and Eight-Place Versions
This stand takes six crucibles on a base of 5 x 3.5 inch (127 x 89 mm) and stands 2 inch (50 mm) tall. An eight-place version, wider but with the same wire gauge, opening size, depth and height, is offered for labs that ignite larger batches at once.
