From the Moving Sun to the Phases of the Moon
The first activity tackles a common idea, that the Sun travels across the sky, and replaces it with a spinning Earth. Day and night, sunrise and sunset then follow from that rotation. The seasons activity brings in the tilt of the Earth’s axis as it orbits the Sun, and the last activity explains the changing shape of the Moon as it orbits the Earth.
