Markings, Cap and Temperature Range
The 0.1 and 0.25 ml graduations give a quick visual check of the volume in the tube, while measuring itself is done with a micropipette. Sample names go on the textured area of the cap or on the labelling area of the tube wall. The cap has a marked spot that a needle can pierce. A working range of -80 to +121 °C covers deep-freezer storage at one end and autoclaving, which runs at 121 °C, at the other.
Spinning the Tubes
Press each cap fully shut before a run and load the rotor in balanced pairs, placing tubes with equal volumes directly opposite each other. An odd sample is balanced with a tube of water.
