Running Spot Tests on the Plate
Put a few drops of each sample in its own cavity and add the reagent with a dropper, for example an indicator to compare acids and alkalis, or iodine solution to check foods for starch. Twelve cavities let a group test a series of solutions, or repeat one test, on a single plate. Rinse and dry the plate before the next set, since traces left in a cavity can alter the next colour.
