What Is the Hand Arthritis Model Used For?
Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks the synovial membrane lining the joints. The hands are among the most commonly affected areas, especially the knuckle joints and the middle joints of the fingers, and usually on both sides. Over time the inflamed synovium swells, erodes cartilage and bone and weakens the tendons and ligaments that hold the fingers straight, which is why typical deformities develop: in a swan-neck deformity the middle joint of the finger bends backwards while the end joint bends down, and in a boutonniere deformity the middle joint stays bent while the end joint bends back.
The cutaway views and the metacarpophalangeal cross-section let a teacher or clinician show each of these changes on one full-size hand, with the educational card supporting the explanation. The model suits NCERT class 11 biology lessons on joint disorders (Locomotion and Movement), and rheumatology, orthopaedic, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and nursing teaching.

Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab), at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a maker of anatomical and pathology teaching models in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The hand model is manufactured in JLab’s own works, not bought from a trader, so medical colleges, therapy schools, dealers and importers order it straight from the manufacturer. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Italy in Southern Europe, Belize in Central America and the Caribbean, South Korea in East Asia, Mexico in North America and Kazakhstan in Central Asia. Tender buyers will find details on the JLab lab tenders page.
