What Is the Magic Ring Used For?
The ring is placed on a drawing sheet or a whiteboard, and the holes give a set of points that all lie on one circle. Joining chosen points lets students build the figures behind three circle theorems: a triangle on a diameter, whose angle at the circle is a right angle; a cyclic quadrilateral, whose opposite angles are supplementary; and several angles standing on the same chord in one segment, which turn out equal. Measuring those angles with a protractor turns each theorem into something students have checked for themselves.
These results are part of the circles chapter of CBSE and NCERT class 9 maths and of maths lab activities on circles. On a whiteboard the same ring works as a teacher demonstration in front of the whole class.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Number of rings — for example one per student or per pair for the circles practical.
- Other circle aids — the circle kit and geoboards linked below are separate items that can be quoted on the same enquiry.
- Delivery details — the destination and any packing or labelling needs.
Frequently Asked Questions
What size is the Magic Ring?
Its outer diameter is 25 cm and its inner diameter is 20 cm.
How many holes does it have?
32 holes around the periphery.
Which circle theorems can it show?
The properties of a circle, the opposite angles of a cyclic quadrilateral, the angle in a semicircle being a right angle, and angles in the same segment of a circle being equal.
Can it be used on a whiteboard?
Yes. It is designed to be placed on a drawing sheet or on a whiteboard.
How is it different from the Circular Geoboard?
The Circular Geoboard is a 20 x 20 cm peg board with 25 pegs on two circles and a centre peg, used with bands. The Magic Ring is a loose plastic ring with 32 holes that is laid on paper or a whiteboard so that figures can be drawn and measured.
What information is needed for an export quotation?
Send the quantity, the destination country and port or city, your preferred delivery terms (for example FOB or CIF), any packing or labelling requirements, and the tender reference if the order is for a tender.
Who manufactures the Magic Ring?
JLab (Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd) makes it at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, an Indian maker of maths lab equipment and geometry models, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The Magic Ring is made in JLab’s own works rather than bought from a trader, so schools, dealers and importers buy it from the manufacturer; each ring is visually inspected before dispatch, and repeat orders are made by the same works. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Paraguay in South America, Belgium in Western Europe, Tajikistan in Central Asia, Japan in East Asia and New Zealand in Oceania.
