Newton Weights Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : EL-MI-4926
Jlab Export is a leading Newton Weights Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Newton Weights (code EL-MI-4926) are slotted laboratory weights with simple newton values from 0.1 N to 200 N, each marked with its value and slotted to stack on a load hanger. The 0.1 N and 0.2 N pieces are pressed steel and the rest are cast iron, individually corrected to within 0.5 %, for mechanics, physics and structures practicals in schools, colleges and engineering labs. They are made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

What Are Newton Weights Used For?
Forces in physics and engineering are measured in newtons, so weights marked in newtons let students apply a known force without converting from grams — a 1 kg mass weighs a little under 10 N, which is why the 10 N weight has a mass of 1.02 kg. Stacked on a hanger, they load springs in Hooke’s law experiments and wires in the Young’s modulus experiment in class 11 physics, apply moments to beams and levers, set the tension in a sonometer wire, and load beams, trusses and frames in structures and strength-of-materials labs, where the larger 50 N to 200 N pieces are needed.
The 1:2:5 sequence keeps the number of different pieces small while still building loads in 0.1 N steps, provided you order enough pieces of each value for the loads in your experiments. Keep cast iron weights dry to prevent rust, lift the 100 N and 200 N pieces with care, and store the set on a rack or trolley so each value has its own place.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Values and pieces — the number of weights of each value, from 0.1 N to 200 N.
- Hangers — the Newton Weight Hangers that suit your load range.
- Storage — a mobile weight trolley for heavy sets.
- Quantity — the minimum order is 10 units.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which values are available in the Newton Weights range?
Eleven values: 0.1, 0.2, 0.5, 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 N, following the 1:2:5 system.
How accurate are the weights?
The cast iron weights are individually corrected to within 0.5 %. The 0.1 N and 0.2 N pieces are pressed steel.
Can any load be made up from the set?
Loads from 0.1 N to over 200 N can be built in 0.1 N steps, as long as you have enough pieces of each value; order extra pieces of the values you use most.
Do the weights fit on a hanger?
Yes. All the weights are slotted so that they stack on a load hanger, such as JLab’s Newton Weight Hangers.
Why choose newton weights instead of gram weights?
Newton values give the force directly, which suits mechanics and structures work. Gram-valued slotted sets, such as the Metric Slotted Weight Set, remain useful where mass rather than force is recorded.
Who manufactures Newton Weights?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, trading as JLab, at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a manufacturer of physics, mechanics and engineering lab equipment in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The weights are cast, pressed and finished at JLab’s own works rather than bought from a trader, so schools, colleges, dealers and importers buy them factory-direct, each weight is visually inspected before dispatch, and extra pieces and repeat orders come from the maker. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Eswatini in Southern Africa, New Zealand in Oceania, Tunisia in North Africa, Costa Rica in Central America and the Caribbean and Indonesia in Southeast Asia. Tender buyers can refer to the JLab lab tenders page.
Hangers, Storage and Other Weights
- Newton Weight Hangers — steel hangers with rounded newton values for stacking these weights.
- Mobile Weight Trolley — a castored steel trolley with shelf space for a set of weights.
- Slotted Weight (Iron Black Painted) — black-painted cast iron slotted weights for large loads.
- Metric Slotted Weight Set — a gram-valued slotted weight set with a weight rack.
