Petri Dish Practicals in Biology
For a germination trial, line the dish with moist filter paper, space the seeds out and keep the paper damp while counting how many sprout each day. For microbial work, the dish is filled with a thin layer of agar medium and inoculated once the agar has set. Wash the dish in warm soapy water after use and rinse it well before the next trial.
