Living with a Direct-Cool Cabinet
In a direct-cool refrigerator the cold surfaces chill the air inside by natural circulation, without a fan, so the top and bottom of the cabinet can sit at slightly different temperatures. Keep items that need the steadiest cold away from the door. Frost builds up on the cooling surfaces over time and slows the cooling; pressing the defrost button clears it, so plan a defrost for a time when the contents can be moved or left undisturbed.
Lock, Shelves and Stabiliser-Free Running
The door lock limits access to stored reagents and student samples. Toughened glass shelves can be wiped down after a spill and let you see what sits on the shelf below. Because the refrigerator works without an external stabiliser, no extra space is needed beside it for a separate stabiliser unit.
