What Is a Seeker Used For in Dissection?
Once a specimen has been opened with a scalpel or scissors, much of the work of exposing its anatomy is done by blunt dissection: the seeker’s rounded tip is slid along a vessel or nerve to free it from the connective tissue around it, lifted under a structure so it can be seen or labelled, or used to point out parts during a demonstration. Because the end is blunt, it moves tissue aside rather than puncturing it, which helps students keep delicate structures intact. Rinse and dry it after use and store it with the other instruments in a dissecting case.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Instrument — blunt-ended seekers, or straight dissecting needles for teasing tissue.
- Companion items — scissors, forceps and cases if you are building dissection kits.
- Quantity — minimum 10 seekers.

OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a manufacturer of biology lab instruments and dissection equipment in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The seekers are made at its own works rather than bought in from a trader, so schools, colleges, dealers and importers order factory-direct, and every piece is visually inspected before dispatch. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example New Zealand in Oceania, Poland in Eastern Europe, Kazakhstan in Central Asia, Nepal in South Asia and Estonia in Northern Europe.
