What Is the Subtraction Chart Used For?
Subtraction normally follows addition in the primary syllabus. Children first meet it as “taking away” objects from a group, then as comparing two numbers to find how many more one has than the other, and later as the inverse of addition, checking a subtraction by adding the answer back. When larger numbers arrive, pupils also learn to regroup (often called borrowing). A wall chart gives the class one reference through all of these steps: the teacher points to it while explaining, and children look up at it while they work through problems in their books.
Display it at a height pupils can read from their seats. The listing gives no finish details, so ask JLab whether the edition supplied is laminated if you expect it to be handled or wiped.
