Battery Hydrometer Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : EL-SLE-4798
Jlab Export is a leading Battery Hydrometer Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Battery Hydrometer (code EL-SLE-4798) is a pipette-type hydrometer used in laboratories to check the state of charge of lead-acid batteries. A rubber squeeze bulb draws electrolyte into a glass barrel, where a matched glass float shows the reading against coloured zones marked for charged, partly charged and fully charged; the bulb and rubber tube fit into the glass frame. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

What Is the Battery Hydrometer Used For?
A lead-acid cell, such as a laboratory accumulator, uses dilute sulphuric acid as its electrolyte. As the cell charges, the acid becomes more concentrated and its specific gravity rises; as it discharges, the specific gravity falls. Squeezing the bulb, dipping the tube into the cell and releasing the bulb draws a sample into the glass barrel, and the float rides higher in denser acid, so the coloured zone level with the liquid surface shows how far the cell is charged. The instrument supports practical work on secondary cells and the lead storage battery in physics and chemistry (for example class 12 electrochemistry), and the routine checks of lab accumulators and battery chargers.
It is meant for cells with removable vent caps; sealed batteries cannot be sampled. Hold the barrel upright so the float moves freely, read at eye level, and return the electrolyte to the same cell. Sulphuric acid is corrosive: wear eye protection and gloves, and rinse the hydrometer with clean water after use.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Quantity — the minimum order is 10 units; labs often keep spares because the glass barrel is breakable.
- Batteries to be tested — describe them in your enquiry so JLab can confirm the hydrometer suits your cells.
- Related items — accumulators and battery chargers can be added to the same quote.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does a battery hydrometer measure?
The specific gravity of the acid electrolyte in a lead-acid cell, which shows how well the cell is charged. This model shows the result as coloured charge zones.
How is a reading taken?
Squeeze the rubber bulb, put the tube into the cell, release the bulb to draw electrolyte into the barrel, and read the coloured zone at the liquid surface while the float is free.
Can it test sealed or dry-cell batteries?
No. It needs access to liquid electrolyte, so it is used on lead-acid cells with removable caps, not on sealed batteries or dry cells.
What details should an export enquiry include?
The quantity, destination country and port or city, delivery terms such as FOB or CIF, any packing or labelling requirements, and a tender reference where applicable.
Who manufactures this battery hydrometer?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, trading as JLab, at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a laboratory instrument manufacturer in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The battery hydrometer is made at JLab’s own works rather than bought from a trader, so schools, colleges, technical institutes, dealers and importers buy it factory-direct, each instrument is visually inspected before dispatch, and repeat orders go back to the manufacturer. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Yemen in the Middle East, Botswana in Southern Africa, Mongolia in East Asia, Sudan in North Africa and Ukraine in Eastern Europe. Tender information is on the JLab lab tenders page.
