Jlab Export is a leading Bi-metallic Sheet Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Bi-metallic Sheet (code EL-PL-12402) is a plain square sheet made of a layer of iron joined to a layer of brass, used to show that different metals expand by different amounts when heated. Warmed in a flame, the flat sheet curves because the brass grows more than the iron. Every JL328/062 sheet is made in Ambala, India, by JLab.

Which Way the Sheet Bends
For the same rise in temperature brass expands more than iron, so on heating the brass face becomes the longer one and the sheet curves with brass on the outer, convex side. As it cools it returns flat, and cooled below room temperature, in ice for example, it curves the opposite way with brass on the inside. The same effect moves the contacts of a thermostat and the pointer of a dial thermometer.
Hold the sheet at one corner with tongs, heat the middle evenly and lay a straight edge against it to show the curve.
