Small Measurements: Cylinder or Pipette?
A 25 ml cylinder is the quick way to measure 10 to 25 ml of a reagent for a test-tube reaction or a flask when the exact volume is not critical. Its narrow bore spreads each millilitre over more of the scale, so small amounts are easy to see. When a volume has to be delivered more closely, a graduated pipette does the job better; when it only needs to be about right, the cylinder is faster to fill and empty.
