What the Automatic Functions Do
Auto zero tracking corrects slow drift of the zero while the pan is empty, and auto calibration handles the scale adjustment that would otherwise be done by hand. The stability indicator shows when the figure has stopped changing, and net-weight indication gives the mass of a sample once its container has been tared. The backlight makes the display easy to read, and auto shut-off switches the balance off when left idle, saving the battery.
Getting Steady Readings at 1 mg
At this readability, air currents, vibration and warm samples all show in the last digit. Set the balance on a firm, level bench away from fans, doors and windows, let samples reach room temperature before weighing, and keep loads within the 3 kg capacity.
