What Is the Star Fish Model Used For?
A starfish is the classic example of an echinoderm. On this model students can follow water from the sieve-like madreporite on the upper surface down the stone canal to the ring canal around the mouth, with polian vesicles acting as reservoirs, and out along each arm to the ampullae that work the tube feet. The pyloric caeca in the arms show where food is digested and absorbed. It fits class 11 lessons on the animal kingdom and invertebrate practicals in college zoology.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Quantity — the minimum order is 10 models.

- Practical equipment — prepared zoology slides and student microscopes can be quoted in the same enquiry.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does it show the water vascular system?
Yes. The madreporite, stone canal, ring canal, polian vesicles and ampullae are shown and numbered, so the system can be traced from the surface towards the tube feet. The model also shows the arms, spines, stomach, intestinal and pyloric caeca and an arm skeleton with its nervous system.
Who manufactures the star fish model?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) makes it at its works in Ambala, Haryana, and quotes as the manufacturer.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, an Indian manufacturer of zoology and anatomy models and laboratory equipment, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The starfish model is made at JLab’s own works rather than bought in from a trader, so buyers deal straight with the maker. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Fiji in Oceania, Turkmenistan in Central Asia, Sierra Leone in West Africa, Bolivia in South America and Hungary in Eastern Europe.
