Setting Up for Heating
Lay a wire gauze across the triangular top so that a beaker or flask sits flat and the flame spreads under the glass instead of striking one spot. The 15 cm height leaves room for a Bunsen burner underneath. Because the legs splay outwards, the stand resists a sideways knock as well as the weight pressing down on it.
Handling After Use
The cast iron top stays hot for some time after the burner is turned off, so let it cool before moving the stand. Wipe spills off the painted legs promptly to keep the steel from rusting.
