From Petrol Tank to Carburettor
In a carburettor-type system the mechanical fuel pump, worked from the engine, draws petrol from the tank and pushes it through the fuel filter, which stops dirt before it can block the fine jets of the carburettor. In the carburettor, air rushing through a narrow venturi lowers the pressure over the jet and draws petrol into the airstream, forming the air-fuel mixture that passes to the inlet manifold and the cylinders.
