Making Up a Standard Solution
Dissolve the weighed solid in a beaker, pour it through a funnel into the flask and rinse both into it. Add water until the bottom of the meniscus sits on the mark at eye level, then mix the contents thoroughly. Let a warm solution cool to room temperature before topping up, because warm liquid occupies more volume and the level would fall below the mark as it cools.
