What Is the Microslide Monarch Butterfly Set Used For?
It shows complete metamorphosis in one insect, stage by stage, at a magnification pupils would not get with a hand lens. Students start with the eggs laid on a milkweed leaf, the plant Monarch caterpillars feed on, then see the larva up close, a caterpillar shedding its skin as it grows, the pupa (chrysalis) and the butterfly emerging from it.
