Jlab Export is a leading Nerve and Muscle Action Microslide Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Nerve and Muscle Action Microslide (code EL-HBE-6971) is a Microslide set of eight related 35 mm images, photographed through a microscope, showing how a nerve impulse reaches a muscle and makes it contract — from myelinated axons, the synapse and synaptic knobs to the nerve-muscle junction, a striated muscle cell and sarcomeres both relaxed and contracted. JLab (Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, Ambala, India) supplies it to schools, colleges and dealers.

What Is the Nerve and Muscle Action Microslide Used For?
The set links two topics that textbooks often treat separately: how nerves carry messages and how muscles respond. Axons carry impulses away from the nerve cell body, and the myelinated axons show the fatty sheath that insulates many nerve fibres and speeds up conduction. At most synapses the electrical impulse does not cross the gap directly; instead the synaptic knobs release a chemical transmitter that crosses to the next cell. The nerve-muscle junction is the same idea applied to muscle, where the transmitter triggers the muscle fibre to contract. The striated muscle cell shows the cross-bands of skeletal muscle, and the paired images of sarcomeres, relaxed and contracted, show the repeating units that shorten as their protein filaments slide over one another.
These images fit control and coordination in class 10 science and the chapters on neural control and coordination and on locomotion and movement in class 11 biology, and they help college physiology students revise the sliding filament model. In class, each image is examined through a Microslide Viewer with its arrows and callouts, and the text folder’s questions round off the lesson; the Microslide is then returned to the folder pocket.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Number of sets — the minimum order is 10 units.
- Viewers — Microslide Viewers are a separate catalogue item.
- Companion sets — the reflex arc and central nervous system Microslides complete the nervous system unit.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which images are in the Nerve and Muscle Action Microslide?
Eight: myelinated axons, a single cell, a synapse, axons, the nerve-muscle junction, a striated muscle cell, synaptic knobs, and sarcomeres shown relaxed and contracted.
Why are sarcomeres shown relaxed and contracted?
Comparing the two lets students see that a sarcomere becomes shorter when the muscle contracts, which is the basis of the sliding filament explanation of muscle contraction.
Does it need a Microslide Viewer?
Yes. The images are intended to be viewed through a Microslide Viewer, sold separately by JLab; include the number of viewers you need in your enquiry.
What comes in the text folder?
A detailed text designed to stimulate, inform and question students about nerve and muscle action, and a pocket that stores the Microslide.
Who supplies the Nerve and Muscle Action Microslide?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) of Ambala, Haryana, India. JLab resells this Microslide product and quotes for it directly.
Supplier
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana, a supplier of science laboratory equipment for schools and colleges. Alongside the human biology models, charts and apparatus in its own range, JLab resells Microslide sets like this one so that teachers can put a complete nervous system and muscle unit on a single order; each set is visually checked before dispatch. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — Mexico in North America, Ghana in West Africa, the Netherlands in Western Europe, Taiwan in East Asia and Sudan in North Africa, to name a few.
