Jlab Export is a leading The Reflex Arc Microslide Manufacturer, and suppliers in India

The Reflex Arc Microslide (code EL-HBE-6970) is a Microslide lesson set that follows the pathway of a reflex through eight related 35 mm images photographed through a microscope, from the Pacinian corpuscle in the skin to the motor end plates on muscle. Arrows and callouts point out the features students need to find, and a detailed text folder with a storage pocket guides the lesson. JLab (Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, Ambala, India) supplies it to schools, colleges and dealers.

What Is The Reflex Arc Microslide Used For?

A reflex arc is easy to draw as a diagram but harder to picture as real tissue. These eight images let students see each link of the arc as it looks under the microscope: the Pacinian corpuscle, a pressure receptor in the skin, at both 80x and 360x; the spinal ganglion, where the cell bodies of sensory neurons sit; the spinal cord with its nerve and the grey matter in which the impulse is relayed; a motor neuron; and the motor end plates where nerve endings meet muscle fibres. Taken in order, the views let the class trace an impulse from receptor to effector and understand why a spinal reflex does not have to wait for the brain. The set supports control and coordination in class 10 science and neural control and coordination in class 11 biology.

Because the images are photographs, every student sees exactly the same field of view, which helps when microscopes are in short supply or before a slide-reading practical. The questions in the text folder work well as homework or a quick end-of-lesson check, and the pocket keeps the Microslide with its folder between lessons.

What to Specify When Ordering

  • Quantity — the minimum order is 10 units, for example one set for each pair or group of students.
  • Viewer — add Microslide Viewers to the enquiry if your school does not already have them.
  • Neighbouring topics — the central nervous system and nerve and muscle action Microslides cover the rest of the unit.

Frequently Asked Questions

What images are on The Reflex Arc Microslide?
Eight: Pacinian corpuscle at 360x, spinal ganglion and nerve, Pacinian corpuscle at 80x, spinal cord and nerve, motor neuron, spinal cord, grey matter, and motor end plates.

Is a viewer needed?
Yes. Microslides are made to be viewed through a Microslide Viewer, which JLab lists as a separate item; confirm in your enquiry whether you need viewers as well.

How do the images explain a reflex?
They follow the arc from the receptor (Pacinian corpuscle) through the sensory nerve and spinal ganglion into the grey matter of the spinal cord, then out through a motor neuron to the motor end plates on the muscle that responds.

What is the text folder for?
It gives detailed background designed to stimulate, inform and question students about the topic, and its pocket stores the Microslide.

Who supplies The Reflex Arc Microslide?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab), Ambala, Haryana, India. It is a Microslide product, and JLab quotes for it directly together with its own biology range.
