What Is the Nursing and Wound Care Manikin Used For?
The manikin is set up for a full round of ward skills on one “patient”. A student can give a sponge bath, change the patient’s clothes, comb the hair and clean dentures, then suction sputum, pass a feeding tube or give an enema, and go on to catheterize, irrigate the bladder or care for an ostomy.
