Rectangular Prism Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : EL-GLE-8567
Jlab Export is a leading Rectangular Prism Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Rectangular Prism (code EL-GLE-8567) is a polished perspex block, 70 x 50 mm, for following light as it reflects and refracts in school and college optics lessons. It is designed to demonstrate the theory of critical angles, so one block covers both ordinary refraction and total internal reflection. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

What Is the Rectangular Prism Used For?
A narrow beam that enters the block at an angle bends towards the normal, and on leaving through the opposite, parallel face it bends back, so it emerges parallel to its original path but shifted sideways. Students trace these rays and measure the angles to study refraction, the same ray-tracing work done with a rectangular slab in class 10 science. Inside the block, a ray that meets a face at more than the critical angle is not refracted out but reflected back in, which is how the prism shows total internal reflection, a class 12 physics topic. The polished faces let the beam pass cleanly, and the perspex block is lighter than glass and less likely to shatter if dropped.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Number of prisms, for example one per bench or student pair.
- A ray box or other light source, and other prism shapes — separate items that can be quoted on the same enquiry.
- Delivery country and city, and your delivery terms for export orders.
Frequently Asked Questions
What size is the Rectangular Prism?
70 x 50 mm, in polished perspex.
What can it be used to demonstrate?
How light reflects and refracts as it passes through a block, and the theory of critical angles, which leads on to total internal reflection.
Why perspex rather than glass?
Perspex is clear when polished, lighter than glass and less likely to shatter if dropped, which suits student practical work.
Who manufactures the Rectangular Prism?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) makes it at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India, and quotes for it as the manufacturer.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, an optics and school physics equipment manufacturer in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The perspex prisms are made at JLab’s own works instead of being bought from a trader, so schools, colleges, dealers and importers buy them direct from the maker, and repeat orders are handled by the same manufacturer. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — Taiwan in East Asia, Oman in the Middle East, Kyrgyzstan in Central Asia, Sri Lanka in South Asia and Sudan in North Africa are among the examples.
Other Prisms and Ray Boxes
- Rectangular Acrylic Prism — a clear, polished acrylic prism for optics experiments.
- Acrylic Semi Circular Prism — semi-circular block prisms with fully polished faces, offered in two thicknesses.
- Equilateral Acrylic Prism — a clear, polished acrylic prism with an equilateral shape.
- Ray Box (three openings, with slit plates) — a ray box supplied with bulb, bulb holder, slit plates and blanking plates.
More apparatus is in the General Lab Equipment range and the Laboratory Supplies section.
