The Charging Sequence Students Practise
After a repair, the vacuum pump evacuates the circuit to remove air and moisture: air would raise the condensing pressure, and moisture can freeze at the expansion device. With the circuit under vacuum, refrigerant is let in from the cylinder while the pressure gauge shows the circuit filling. When a system has to be opened for work, the unit can first draw its gas into the cylinder, and the same gas can be charged back once the job is done.
Vacuum, Gauge and Leak-Test Items
- Fast Vacuum Pumps — two-stage vacuum pump with a built-in vacuum gauge.
- Manifold Gauges For Refrigeration Systems — gauge set with red, blue and yellow hoses and a sight glass.
- Refrigerant Gas Leak Detector — checks the circuit for refrigerant gas leaks instead of soap foam.
