What Is a Retort Clamp Used For?
In a titration the burette has to hang vertically over the conical flask so that the scale can be read squarely at the meniscus and the titrant falls cleanly into the flask. The clamp, fixed to the stand rod through its boss head, holds the burette in that position; holding two burettes lets two titrations run side by side from one stand.
