What Is a Set Square Used For?
A set square is a right-angled triangle used as a drawing guide. The 45° set square has two 45° angles, and the 60° set square has angles of 30° and 60°. Sliding one along a ruler or T-square gives parallel lines, setting one side of its right angle against a ruler gives perpendicular lines, and its edges set out 30°, 45° and 60° lines directly. Because the plastic is transparent, the lines already drawn stay visible underneath. Students use set squares for geometric constructions in school maths, and draughtsmen and engineering students use them for technical drawing.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Angle — the 45° set square, the 60° set square, or both.
- Size — 20 x 25 cm or 25 x 30 cm.
- Quantity of each, and any rulers, protractors or compasses to quote on the same enquiry.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which angles and sizes are available?
The set squares are made as 45° and 60° set squares, in 20 x 25 cm and 25 x 30 cm sizes, all in transparent plastic with bevelled edges.
What is the difference between the 45° and 60° set square?
The 45° set square has two 45° angles beside its right angle; the 60° set square has a 30° and a 60° angle. Used together they also give further angles by adding or subtracting these.
What should an export enquiry include?
The angle, size and quantity of each set square, the destination country and port or city, your delivery terms (for example FOB or CIF), any packing or labelling needs, and the tender reference if one applies.
Who manufactures these set squares?
JLab, the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a manufacturer of maths lab equipment and geometry instruments in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The set squares are made at JLab’s own works and not resold from a trader, so schools, colleges, dealers and importers buy from the maker itself. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Turkmenistan in Central Asia, Belgium in Western Europe, Finland in Northern Europe, Algeria in North Africa and Benin in West Africa. Tender details are on the JLab lab tenders page.
