Sodium Bicarbonate Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : EL-CL-12344
Jlab Export is a leading Sodium Bicarbonate Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Sodium Bicarbonate (code EL-CL-12344) is sodium hydrogencarbonate, NaHCO3, a mild base that releases carbon dioxide with acids. Organic practicals use that reaction to pick out carboxylic acids, and heating the solid demonstrates thermal decomposition. Manufacture takes place at JLab in Ambala, India.

Carbon Dioxide Tests with Sodium Bicarbonate
A carboxylic acid such as ethanoic or benzoic acid added to its solution fizzes, and the gas turns lime water milky. Phenol itself does not react, so the test separates a carboxylic acid from a simple phenol. Heated in a dry tube, the solid gives sodium carbonate, droplets of water on the cooler glass and carbon dioxide: 2NaHCO3 gives Na2CO3 + H2O + CO2.
Related Carbonate and Acid Reagents
- Lime Water — turns milky with the carbon dioxide released.
- Sodium Carbonate — the carbonate left when the bicarbonate is heated.
- Glacial Acetic Acid — carboxylic acid that fizzes with bicarbonate solution.
Acids, bases and gas-test reagents appear in Chemistry Lab.
