Filling Lamps and Cleaning Slides
Refill a lamp only after the flame is out and the lamp has cooled, and wipe off any spill before relighting: vapour from a warm lamp or a wet bench catches fire easily. Keep the bottle capped and stored away from burners.
For microscope work, a few drops on a soft cloth lift grease and fingerprints from glass and dry off quickly, leaving the slide ready for mounting. Shelf life depends on storage; each batch expiry date is shown on the quotation.
