Setting the Stand Up over a Station Mark
Open the legs around the mark and adjust them until the head sits roughly level at a comfortable eye height. Place the instrument on the head, use the mounting screw to bring it exactly over the mark, then tighten it. Fine levelling is done afterwards with the instrument’s own levelling screws and bubble, so the stand only has to be firm and close to level.
