Vernier Caliper IME Type Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : EL-MI-2113
Jlab Export is a leading Vernier Caliper IME Type Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Vernier Caliper IME Type (code EL-MI-2113) is a chrome-plated steel vernier caliper of the IME pattern, used for measuring small lengths and diameters in school and college physics practicals. It has a dual scale — inches up to 6 inch on one side and millimetres up to 15 cm on the other — and a 10-part vernier that reads to 0.1 mm. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

How Does It Compare with Other JLab Vernier Calipers?
| Model | Scales (as listed) | Reading | Body, adjustment and case |
|---|---|---|---|
| This caliper (EL-MI-2113) | 6 inch and 15 cm | 0.1 mm (10-part vernier) | Chrome-plated steel; spring-held jaw; thumb strip for fine adjustment; velvet case |
| Vernier Calliper Dual Scale Plated Steel | 15 cm and 6 inch | 0.1 mm and 1/128 inch | IME type, plated steel; thumb movement for the jaws; plastic case |
| Vernier Calipers Double Scale | 150 mm and 6 inch | 0.05 mm and 1/128 inch | Sturdy construction |
| Vernier Calipers Digital | 150 mm and 6 inches | 0.01 mm and 0.0005 inch on an LCD | Hardened stainless steel; one 1.5 V silver oxide battery included; foam-lined case |
Choose this caliper for a dual-scale instrument reading to 0.1 mm with a jaw that stays where it is set. The Double Scale model reads finer on its metric side; the digital caliper shows 0.01 mm but needs a battery.
What Is the IME-Type Vernier Caliper Used For?
A vernier caliper adds a sliding vernier to a millimetre scale so that fractions of a division can be read. Here the 10-part vernier splits each millimetre of the main scale into tenths, giving a least count of 0.1 mm. In CBSE and ICSE class 11 physics practicals it is the instrument for measuring the diameter of a small sphere or cylinder and the sides of a regular block whose density is to be worked out; it also serves the measurement chapter of ICSE class 9 physics, college physics labs and ITI workshops where small parts are checked.
Before measuring, close the jaws and check that the two zeros line up; note any zero error and correct for it. Release the thumb strip to open the jaws quickly, then make the final setting with it so the jaws just touch the object. Read the main scale up to the vernier zero and add the coinciding vernier division times 0.1 mm. Wipe the caliper after use and keep it in its velvet case.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Quantity — the minimum order is 10 calipers; many schools plan one per practical group plus a few spares.
- Reading you need — this 0.1 mm dual-scale model, or a finer-reading or digital caliper from the comparison above.
- Companion instruments — a micrometer screw gauge and a spherometer for the same set of measurement practicals can go in the same enquiry.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the least count of this vernier caliper?
0.1 mm on the metric scale. The 10-part vernier divides each millimetre of the main scale into tenths. The listing does not give the reading of the inch side, so ask JLab if you need it.
What length can it measure?
Up to 15 cm on the metric scale and up to 6 inch on the inch scale.
How are the jaws set and held?
A spring holds the moveable jaw wherever it is placed on the scale. A thumb-operated strip gives fine adjustment, and it can be disengaged when you want to slide the jaw quickly.
How does it differ from the Vernier Calliper Dual Scale Plated Steel?
Both are IME-type dual-scale calipers that read to 0.1 mm over 15 cm. This one is chrome-plated, has the spring-held jaw and thumb strip, and comes in a velvet case; the other is listed as plated steel with thumb movement, a 1/128 inch reading and a plastic case.
What should an export enquiry include?
Send the quantity, the destination country and port or city, your preferred delivery terms (for example FOB or CIF), any packing or labelling needs, and the tender reference if the order is for a tender.
Who manufactures this caliper?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, trading as JLab, makes it at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India, and quotes for it directly.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a maker of physics lab instruments in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The IME-type caliper is produced at JLab’s own works rather than sourced from a trader, so schools, colleges, dealers and importers deal with the factory directly, every piece is checked by eye before it is packed, and repeat orders are handled by the maker. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Libya in North Africa, Slovenia in Southern Europe, France in Western Europe, Samoa in Oceania and Chile in South America. For institutional purchasing, see the JLab lab tenders page.
