What Is the Wet/Dry Test Tube Rack Used For?
Tubes in a water bath reach and hold the bath temperature most reliably when the water can move freely around them. This rack is designed so that the flow along its length is interrupted only by the sample tubes, and its dense plastic keeps it from lifting or drifting as the water circulates, which a lighter rack can do. The alphanumeric grid on the top tier lets each sample be recorded by its letter-and-number position, useful in enzyme, microbiology and biochemistry practicals in class 11 and class 12 biology, college courses and research labs where many tubes are incubated together. Out of the bath it works as an ordinary bench rack.
