A Threefold Step Between Powers
Of the three frosted-plate models, the 1X/3X pair has the biggest step between powers: 10X shows a whole specimen for orientation, and one turn of the turret brings 30X, three times the scale, for fine structure. Parfocal, parcentred objectives keep the area of interest centred and close to focus after the turn. The 55 mm working distance still leaves space for a dissecting needle beneath the objective.
Light, Plates and Cordless Running
A dual switch sets the LEDs to top, bottom or both. Opaque rock or mineral surfaces are lit from above against the reversible black/white plate; thin or translucent material is lit from below through the frosted glass plate. A pair of stage clips holds the specimen on either plate. The rechargeable battery frees the microscope from the socket, its cast aluminium body has a grey enamel finish, and a dust cover and instruction manual come in the fitted foam box.
