What Is Blotting Paper Used For?
In the biology lab, seeds are germinated on moist blotting paper so students can watch the root and shoot emerge, leaves and flowers are pressed and dried between sheets for herbarium work, and a strip touched to the edge of a coverslip draws off excess water or stain from a slide.
