Outside Micrometers Engraved Marking Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : EL-ELA-6395
Jlab Export is a leading Outside Micrometers Engraved Marking Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Outside Micrometers Engraved Marking (code EL-ELA-6395) is a hand micrometer for measuring short lengths accurately, such as shaft and wire diameters or plate thickness, with its scale lines engraved into the instrument rather than printed on it. It reads to 0.01 mm (0.001 in), has carbide-tipped measuring faces and is listed in four ranges up to 75–100 mm. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

How Does It Compare with the Printed and Micron-Reading Models?
| Model | Least count | Ranges listed | Scale marking and frame |
|---|---|---|---|
| This micrometer (EL-ELA-6395) | 0.01 mm / 0.001 in | 0–25 to 75–100 mm | Engraved; blue metallic frame |
| Outside Micrometers Printed Marking | 0.01 mm / 0.001 in | 0–25 to 225–250 mm; 0–1 to 9–10 in | Printed; green/blue metallic frame |
| Outside Micrometers with Micron Reading | 0.001 mm | 0–25 to 75–100 mm | Etched; blue metallic frame; plastic box; calibrated in house |
All three have carbide-tipped faces, a locking clamp and a ratchet stop. Pick this engraved model for the four common metric sizes up to 100 mm at a 0.01 mm reading; the printed-marking model is listed in larger sizes up to 225–250 mm and in inch sizes, and the micron-reading model suits work that needs 0.001 mm.
What Is an Engraved Outside Micrometer Used For?
Outside micrometers measure external dimensions where a finer reading than a vernier caliper is wanted: the diameter of a shaft, pin or wire, the thickness of a sheet or washer, or the size of a turned part checked against its drawing. A fine screw drives the spindle towards the anvil, and the reading is the sleeve value plus the thimble division. In education the instrument serves engineering and polytechnic metrology practicals, ITI fitter, turner and machinist trades, and senior physics labs where students move on from the class 11 screw gauge to a workshop micrometer.
Engraved graduations are cut into the metal, so the lines are part of the surface rather than a printed layer on top of it. The ratchet stop lets the spindle meet the work with a similar force each time, and the locking clamp holds the spindle so the reading can be checked after the micrometer is taken off the part.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Range — 0–25, 25–50, 50–75 or 75–100 mm, with the quantity of each.
- Scale type — engraved (this model), printed, or the etched micron-reading version.
- Companion tools — vernier calipers or a digital micrometer are separate items that can be added to the same enquiry.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which ranges is the engraved outside micrometer listed in?
0–25, 25–50, 50–75 and 75–100 mm. Each micrometer covers one of these ranges, and all of them read to 0.01 mm.
What does “engraved marking” mean?
The scale graduations are cut into the metal instead of being printed on the surface. If you prefer printed graduations, or need sizes above 100 mm, JLab lists a printed-marking outside micrometer.
What resolution does it give?
A least count of 0.01 mm, or 0.001 in. For 0.001 mm readings, the outside micrometer with micron reading is the matching model.
Why are the measuring faces carbide tipped?
Carbide is much harder than ordinary steel, so the anvil and spindle faces that touch the work wear more slowly under repeated measurements.
Can it be used for school physics practicals?
It works on the same screw principle as the screw gauge in class 11 practicals and fits senior secondary, polytechnic and engineering labs. For basic school use, JLab also lists a Welch-pattern Micrometer Screw Gauge.
What should an export enquiry include?
The ranges and quantities, destination country and port or city, delivery terms such as FOB or CIF, any packing or labelling instructions, and a tender reference where one applies.
Who makes the engraved outside micrometer?
JLab (Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd) manufactures it at its Ambala works in Haryana, India, and supplies it directly.
OEM Manufacturer
Behind the JLab name is Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, an Indian maker of scientific, educational and measuring instruments, incorporated in 2017 with its base on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The engraved micrometers are built in JLab’s own works, not bought in from traders, so colleges, ITIs, schools, dealers and importers deal with the manufacturer directly, each instrument is visually checked before dispatch, and later orders for other ranges come from the same source. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — Guinea in West Africa, the UK in Western Europe, Fiji in Oceania, Mexico in North America and Finland in Northern Europe are examples. Tender buyers can refer to the JLab lab tenders page.
