What Is the Brass Hoffman Screw Clip Used For?
A Hoffman screw clip squeezes flexible tubing between two plates. Turning the screw presses the plates together and narrows the tube, so the clip can shut off the flow completely or let it through at a slow, steady rate. In school and college chemistry and biology labs it is used on rubber tubing fitted to apparatus such as aspirator bottles, gas lines and burettes with a rubber tube and jet, and it keeps a set flow without anyone holding the tube.
What to Specify When Ordering
