What Is the Cape Model Used For?

Capes are usually made of harder rock that stands out after the softer rock on either side has been worn back into bays. Waves bend around a cape and concentrate their energy on it, so over time its cliffs can be cut into caves, arches and isolated stacks. Because they stick out into the sea, capes have always been landmarks for sailors and often carry lighthouses. Kanyakumari (Cape Comorin) marks the southern tip of mainland India, while the Cape of Good Hope and Cape Horn were turning points on historic sea routes.

In lessons on coastal landforms, the model is set beside a bay so students see the two shapes as partners: land reaching out into water, and water reaching into land. The Bay, Estuary and Confluence models in the same range are listed at the same dimensions.

OEM Manufacturer

JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a maker of educational lab equipment in India, from geography models to science apparatus, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. This model is made in its own works, not bought in from a trader, so schools, colleges, dealers and importers buy straight from the manufacturer.
