What Is the CPR Manikin Used For?
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation combines chest compressions with rescue breaths to keep blood and oxygen moving in a person whose heart has stopped, and an automated external defibrillator (AED) is used alongside it to analyse the heart rhythm and give a shock when one is advised. These are skills that must be practised on a manikin, because they cannot be rehearsed on a person.
