What Is the Decimal Abacus Used For?
Decimals carry place value to the right of the decimal point, where each place is worth one tenth of the place to its left. On a spike abacus the beads stacked on each spike show the digit in that place, so students can build a number with a whole part and a decimal part, read it aloud and see how a move of one place to the right divides the value by ten. Teachers use it to compare decimals — for instance why five tenths is more than forty-five hundredths — and to model adding and subtracting decimals with regrouping in upper primary and middle-school classes.

OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, an Indian manufacturer of maths lab equipment and educational instruments, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The Decimal Abacus is made in JLab’s own works instead of being traded, so schools, dealers and importers get it factory-direct and can reorder from the same maker.
