Heating and Cleaning the Tube
Fill it no more than a third full for boiling, keep it tilted with the mouth turned away from people, and warm the upper part of the liquid before the bottom. Let the glass cool before rinsing, since cold water on hot glass can still crack borosilicate. Clean the inside with a test tube brush and stand the tube mouth-down to drain.
