Product Code : EL-CL-11577
Jlab Export is a leading Zinc Strip Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Zinc Strip (code EL-CL-11577) is a rectangular zinc electrode with a terminal, 15 x 5 cm, model JL 284/03. As the more reactive metal, it is the negative electrode of a Daniell cell and the metal used to show copper being displaced from copper sulphate solution. JLab makes it in Ambala, India, to the same size as its copper strip.

Zinc in Cell and Displacement Experiments
In a Daniell cell the zinc strip stands in zinc sulphate solution and slowly dissolves as it gives up electrons to the external circuit; connect its terminal to the negative side of the voltmeter. Dipped straight into blue copper sulphate solution, the strip gains a brown coating of copper while the blue colour fades, a quick demonstration of the reactivity series. Rub off the coating and any grey oxide with sand paper before the next class.
