What Is the Hand Finger Joint Model Used For?
The hand moves through a chain of small joints: the wrist, the knuckle (metacarpophalangeal) joints and the finger (interphalangeal) joints, each held by ligaments that guide and limit its motion. A functional model lets a teacher take the fingers through their range in front of a class and point to the ligaments involved when explaining grip, finger spread and wrist bending.
It is suited to anatomy teaching in medical, nursing and paramedical colleges, to physiotherapy and occupational-therapy courses where hand movement and rehabilitation are studied, and to explaining hand and wrist problems to patients in clinics.
Frequently Asked Questions
What do abduction and adduction of the fingers mean?
Abduction spreads the fingers apart, away from the line of the middle finger; adduction brings them back together. Both take place mainly at the knuckle joints.
What is palmar flexion?
It is bending the hand at the wrist towards the palm. The opposite movement, bending the back of the hand upwards, is called extension or dorsiflexion.
Does the model come apart, and what is supplied with it?
It can be lifted off its stand for handling but does not dissect into parts. A teaching manual for anatomy instruction comes with it.
What information is needed for an export quotation?
Please give the quantity, destination country and port or city, preferred delivery terms (for example FOB or CIF), any packing or labelling requirements and the tender reference if applicable.
Who manufactures the Hand Finger Joint Functional Model?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) makes it at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a manufacturer of anatomical models and science laboratory equipment in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. Its functional joint models are made at its own works rather than bought from a trader, so colleges, clinics, dealers and importers deal with the maker directly, and each piece is inspected by eye before it is packed. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Mexico in North America, Costa Rica in Central America and the Caribbean, Benin in West Africa, Iceland in Northern Europe and Kazakhstan in Central Asia.
