How Does It Compare with the Human Vertebral Column?

ModelSizeWhat it shows
This model (EL-OM-273)Mini sizeAll 24 vertebrae with pelvis, sacrum and occipital bone; vertebral artery; all nerve branches; herniated lumbar disc
Human Vertebral ColumnLife size, 29 in tallInflexible adult column with pelvis, femur heads, sacrum and occipital bone; spinal cord, nerve roots, all nerve branches, vertebral artery; herniated lumbar disc

Both models show the full column with the pelvis, the vertebral artery, the nerve branches and a herniated lumbar disc. The mini model is the compact option for consulting rooms and classrooms, while the life-size column suits an anatomy hall where the spine is studied at real scale.

What Is the Human Mini Spine Model Used For?

The 24 movable vertebrae of the spine are the seven cervical, twelve thoracic and five lumbar vertebrae; below them, the sacrum joins the spine to the pelvis. The vertebral artery runs up through the neck vertebrae to supply the brain, and the spinal nerves branch out between the vertebrae. A herniated lumbar disc is a common cause of low back pain and sciatica, which makes it a useful feature to show patients. The model is used in anatomy teaching at medical, physiotherapy, chiropractic and nursing colleges, for patient explanation in spine and physiotherapy clinics, and in class 11 biology lessons on the vertebral column.

  • Quantity — the number of spine models for each clinic, classroom or department.
  • Other spine models — for example the life-size Human Vertebral Column, if it should be quoted with this one.

Who manufactures the Human Mini Spine Model?
JLab (Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd) at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India.

OEM Manufacturer

JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, an Indian manufacturer of spine, skeleton and anatomical teaching models, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The mini spine is made at JLab’s own works instead of being resold from a trader, so clinics, colleges, dealers and importers buy direct from the manufacturer, each model is inspected by eye before dispatch, and repeat orders go back to the same works. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Zimbabwe in East Africa, Samoa in Oceania, Greece in Southern Europe, Moldova in Eastern Europe and Lithuania in Northern Europe. Tender information is on the JLab lab tenders page.
